Inviting users
Invite team members to your OnyxMetric organization and control their access to specific sites
Invited users receive an email with a join link. If it does not arrive, check the spam folder before re-sending.
Add the user to your organization
Go to Settings > Organization and click the "Invite Member" button. Enter the user's email address.
Select the user's role
Pick any role up to your own. Only owners can create other owners.
- Owner: full control, including billing and deleting the organization
- Admin: manages members, teams, and sites, but not billing
- Editor: changes site configuration (tracking settings, feature flags, experiments, imports, Search Console) but does not manage members
- Member: views analytics and builds reports such as goals, funnels, dashboards, plus their own segments and annotations
- Viewer: read-only access
The Member roles table lists every permission.
Restricting site access
Editors, members, and viewers can be limited to specific sites. Tick "Restrict access to specific sites" and choose the sites they may open. Without a restriction, they see every site in the organization, except sites that belong to a team they are not part of.
You can also set a role on these sites to raise their role for the chosen sites only. Example: invite a client as a Viewer, restrict them to their own site, and give them Editor there. They can configure that one site and nothing else. A site role can only raise the organization role, never lower it.
Admins and owners always reach every site, so restrictions do not apply to them. A member restricted to specific sites counts as a viewer for anything that spans the whole organization, such as organization-wide segments.
Assign teams (optional)
If your organization has teams set up, you can assign the new member to a team during the invitation. When the member accepts the invitation, they will automatically be added to the selected team.
This is useful for ensuring new members immediately have access to the right group of sites without needing to configure access separately.
Send the invite
Click the "Invite" button. The user will receive an email with a link to sign up for OnyxMetric. You can manage all pending invitations in the Organization settings page.
Managing site access for existing members
You can change a member's site access at any time after they've joined your organization.
- Go to Settings > Organization
- Find the member in the list and click the edit (pencil) icon in the Actions column for that member
- Toggle "Restrict access to specific sites", select the sites they should have access to, and optionally choose a role on those sites
- Click "Save changes"
The member will immediately only see the sites you've selected. If you disable the restriction, they'll regain access to all sites.
One person can belong to several organizations, with a separate role in each. To give someone a site that they will manage from their own organization, transfer the site instead.
