Carrd
Add OnyxMetric analytics to your Carrd site
Carrd builds one-page sites. The tag goes into the Head embed code field in the site settings.
Copy your tracking snippet
In OnyxMetric, open your site's Site Settings and copy the tracking script. It looks like this:
<script src="https://app.onyxmetric.com/api/script.js?siteId=YOUR_SITE_ID" async></script>YOUR_SITE_ID is the numeric ID of your site.
Add the snippet to Carrd
Custom head code needs a Carrd Pro plan (Pro Standard or Pro Plus). Pro Lite does not include Embed Code.
- Open your site in the Carrd editor and click the Settings gear at the top right.
- Open the Settings tab and scroll to Embed Code.
- Paste this into the Head field:
<script>
(function () {
var s = document.createElement("script");
s.src = "https://app.onyxmetric.com/api/script.js?siteId=YOUR_SITE_ID";
s.async = true;
document.head.appendChild(s);
})();
</script>This small loader keeps Carrd's embed processing from rewriting the tag.
- Click Save, then Publish. Changes are not live until you publish.
On a multi-page site (Pro Plus), the head code loads on every page.
Check that it works
Load your live site and click through a few pages. Pageviews show up in the OnyxMetric dashboard within seconds.
If nothing arrives:
- View the page source and search for
script.js?siteId=to confirm the tag is present. - In the browser's Network tab, check that
script.jsreturns200and that requests go to/api/track. - Turn off ad blockers, or proxy the script through your own domain.
- Read script troubleshooting for other causes.
Troubleshooting
- No Head field: the site is on Pro Lite or the free plan. Upgrade to Pro Standard or Pro Plus.
- Tag not in the page source: the site was saved but not published. Publish again.
Next steps
- Track custom events such as signups, purchases, and clicks.
- Identify users to tie sessions to accounts.
- Proxy the script through your own domain to get past ad blockers.
- Script attributes let you skip or mask URLs and tag events.
