Integration Guides
Instapage
Add OnyxMetric analytics to your Instapage landing pages
Instapage takes custom scripts at two levels. Workspace scripts (under Assets > Scripts) apply to every page in a workspace, and each page also has its own JavaScript and HTML/CSS settings.
Copy your tracking snippet
In OnyxMetric, open your site's Site Settings and copy the tracking script. It looks like this:
<script src="https://app.onyxmetric.com/api/script.js?siteId=YOUR_SITE_ID" async></script>YOUR_SITE_ID is the numeric ID of your site.
Add the snippet to Instapage
- In the left menu, open Assets, then Scripts.
- Paste the snippet into the Head section.
- Above the editor, choose how it applies: the first option adds it to every past and future page in the workspace, while the others leave it off until you switch it on per page under Scripts & Privacy.
- Click Apply.
Workspace scripts load on the live URL before any page-level script.
- Open the page in the builder and click Settings in the right sidebar.
- Open the HTML/CSS tab and paste the snippet into Head. The JavaScript tab wraps code in
<script>tags for you, and the snippet already has its own, so use HTML/CSS. - Publish the page. Custom code runs only on the live page, not in the editor or preview.
If you use Instapage's privacy compliance banner, put the snippet in the page's Scripts & Privacy section so it fires only after the visitor accepts.
Check that it works
Load your live site and click through a few pages. Pageviews show up in the OnyxMetric dashboard within seconds.
If nothing arrives:
- View the page source and search for
script.js?siteId=to confirm the tag is present. - In the browser's Network tab, check that
script.jsreturns200and that requests go to/api/track. - Turn off ad blockers, or proxy the script through your own domain.
- Read script troubleshooting for other causes.
Troubleshooting
- Not in the page source: the page was saved but not republished.
- Assets > Scripts shows an upgrade prompt: Workspace scripts are not on your subscription. Add the snippet per page.
- Duplicate pageviews: the snippet is both a workspace script and a page script. Keep one.
- Old version still served: clear your browser cache after publishing, since cached copies can outlive an update.
Next steps
- Track custom events such as signups, purchases, and clicks.
- Identify users to tie sessions to accounts.
- Proxy the script through your own domain to get past ad blockers.
- Script attributes let you skip or mask URLs and tag events.
