Podia
Add OnyxMetric analytics to your Podia site
Podia has a Third-party code setting under Settings > Analytics that adds the snippet to every public page of your site, including checkout. Podia inserts custom code just before the closing </body> tag rather than in <head>.
Copy your tracking snippet
In OnyxMetric, open your site's Site Settings and copy the tracking script. It looks like this:
<script src="https://app.onyxmetric.com/api/script.js?siteId=YOUR_SITE_ID" async></script>YOUR_SITE_ID is the numeric ID of your site.
Add the snippet to Podia
Third-party code is available on Podia's Mover and Shaker plans. The free plan does not show the option.
- From your home feed, click your site name and choose Admin.
- In the Admin sidebar, open Settings > Analytics.
- Click Edit next to Third-party code.
- Paste the snippet into Website tracking code.
- Click Save. It is live right away, with no publish step.
The code runs on every public page and on checkout pages. It does not run in logged-in areas such as the customer dashboard, product viewer, or community spaces.
Check that it works
Load your live site and click through a few pages. Pageviews show up in the OnyxMetric dashboard within seconds.
If nothing arrives:
- View the page source and search for
script.js?siteId=to confirm the tag is present. - In the browser's Network tab, check that
script.jsreturns200and that requests go to/api/track. - Turn off ad blockers, or proxy the script through your own domain.
- Read script troubleshooting for other causes.
Track purchases
Podia has a second field, Conversion tracking code, below the website tracking code. It runs only on the thank-you page after a purchase or membership signup, and Podia exposes the order as Podia.Conversion.
Paste this into Conversion tracking code to send a purchase event:
<script>
(function () {
var c = window.Podia && window.Podia.Conversion;
if (!c) return;
var payload = {
product: c.object.name,
order_id: c.object.order_id,
value: c.revenue,
currency: c.currency
};
var start = Date.now();
(function send() {
if (window.onyx && typeof window.onyx.event === "function") {
return window.onyx.event("purchase", payload);
}
if (Date.now() - start < 8000) setTimeout(send, 150);
})();
})();
</script>The short polling loop exists because Podia can run conversion code before the tracking script finishes loading. revenue is 0 for free products and free plans, so filter those out when you report revenue.
Troubleshooting
- No Third-party code option: the site is on the free plan.
- No pageviews while you test: Podia prints no tracking code when you are logged in to your own account. Test in a private window.
- Member pages missing: expected. Custom code runs on public pages and checkout only.
- Duplicate purchase events:
Podia.Conversionexists only on the first load of the thank-you page, so a refresh does not resend. If you still see duplicates, make sure the event script lives in Conversion tracking code only.
Next steps
- Track custom events such as signups, purchases, and clicks.
- Identify users to tie sessions to accounts.
- Proxy the script through your own domain to get past ad blockers.
- Script attributes let you skip or mask URLs and tag events.
